Temporary speed bumps are being installed in the Laurel Lake community after ongoing concern from residents over excessive speed. The City of Nelson is providing the material, signs and installation for this project at no cost to the LLPOA. The remaining three or so temporary speed bumps and cautionary signs will be installed once the City receives everything for the project. Mayor Green has offered to let us order permanent speed bumps at a discounted rate when the city places its materials order later this year. This allows us time to evaluate the effectiveness of the temporary measures and gather community feedback before making a final decision.
